Flute Fest is an annual Upper Midwest Flute Association (UMFA) event dedicated to our love of the flute. Each year we feature an inspiring guest artist, and host the final rounds of the Young Artist Competition and Laudie Porter Memorial Scholarship Competition for junior high and high school students. There are also masterclasses, discussions and workshops, as well as opportunities for participation, so bring your flute! It is a fabulous day to shop for flutes and flute music from our many knowledgeable exhibitors. Those who prefer to spend the day listening, will delight in the concerts and recitals, including our Rising Stars Recitals, dedicated to our youngest students. Join our flute community! We welcome all ages and ability levels to join us!
UMFA is pleased to announce that The Fourth Wall Ensemble will be the featured guest artist for Flute Fest 2022. The Fourth Wall is a hybrid performing arts ensemble in which the musicians are also dancers. The ensemble is comprised of flutist Hilary Abigana, bass trombonist C. Neil Parsons, and percussionist Greg Jukes.
